God, I’m dying for a cup of hot chocolate.

PG&E is working on replacing the power lines a couple of miles away from my house. I don’t think they’ll have the power restored here until tomorrow. However, there’s a chance the house I’m cleaning tomorrow will have power, so I might be warm.

I’ve just got a fire going now at home, so things so be warm here soon, too.

The Press Democrat up here has a front page story about how AT&T is planning on discontinuing landline phones in California soon. I figured this was happening as the true copper lines are mostly gone but it does create a huge problem for wildfire prone areas. Maybe it’s time I learn ham radio.

Once you go elastomeric, you don't go back. I thought I'd get more flack than I would in a regular N95, but no. Hard to beat the level of security you feel with an elastomeric.

Hey, Jewish Mastodon, I have a question. When I was a kid in Jersey, I heard people refer to the koshering of a stove via the fire method as "THOY-val". Or "TtOY-val". The rabbi has to TOYval the oven. Something like that.

But out here in California it's not a word used often. Not that this is a daily conversation for me, but anyway.....is this a regional word, or maybe specific with one group, or what is this actual word?

I just got the GVS p100 elastomeric respirator, little guy. It's a nice fit! Fits better than an N95. I may get one for each family member and a bunch of replacement filters.
