Covid is increasing quickly in the East Bay and in the North Bay also, of the San Francisco Bay Area. Windsor just shot up 300 points and a friend in Brentwood got it from an elementary school grandkid. The Contra Costa map on wastewater data doesn't show it yet so I'm putting out a warning here.

@mjausson yeah the only change I make is using an Aura instead of the elastomeric. I went shopping inside too, but could do that still, just at lesser times. The Aura fits me well so I might keep it going.

@ai6yr @mjausson I love the Gerson duck bills! If they get older that elastic might break I guess. Or if it dries out. You could get replacement cord and staple it on, like a sewing elastic. The Dräger brand has that.

@JeremyMallin @actuallyautistic the only ones I really dislike are "with autism", because it's not an accessory I carry, and I'm not fond of the D disorder. Autistic is fine, I do realize that will be changed eventually too.

So there is evidence of avian flu possibly mutating in human hosts. Not surprising.

I’m not particularly freaked out by all this, mainly because there is literally nothing more I can do as far as PPE for myself. But I’m hoping our animals are not going to die off, because I am concerned about cats. Obviously all the others too. But the kitties have a high death rate with this flu.

Edited to say and of course I don’t want others to die from it, I hoped that was obvious.

Were you too forced to have a Bar Mitzvah (or Bat Mitzvah) party and had to invite a bunch of kids you barely knew so that you could fill out a "friends" table?

And then you had to take turns dancing with half of them too even though you were socially awkward and physically clumsy as Hell?

There is a cat sanctuary on YouTube called Furball Farms Cat Sanctuary, and we are just loving watching it. They are in Minnesota and broadcast every day. Imagine, if you will, over 300 cats in a gigantic building with an equally huge catio. Hardly any fighting, maybe just a sibling smack every now and then. They have beds and posts and special shelves with blankets everywhere. Sleeping in groups, playing, grooming each other. I’ve never seen over 300 cats, not in cages, just hangin out. It’s so damn peaceful.

Just came back from my quarterly rheumatologist appointment. The injections have worked 100%! Zero inflammation. I'm feeling better than I ever have, like I'm 30 again. Best gift ever.

The most useful invention I've ever run across... Corsi-Rosenthal box.

I have used this so far for:

  1. Wildfire smoke
  2. COVID-19
  3. Bacon smoke (on Saturdays, LOL)
  4. General improvement of AQI
  5. Pet related allergies (hay and dander)
  6. Ragweed/pollen heavy days
  7. Dust from Santa Ana winds
  8. Dust from construction/remodeling
  9. Paint fumes (only partially useful, doesn't absorb gases, but helps somewhat) -- plus it sucks all the dust from the air, so it doesn't stick to your paint

(probably other uses, too...)

The large number in the last few weeks is mostly due to starvation. I can’t remember a war in my lifetime where mass starvation was used by a country. Not to this level. It appears hundreds of thousands will be lost to lack of food and water.

I could link a video here, but ya know, someone might say I’m trying to influence the elections. So I’ll just write it out.

Israel has bombed almost all the farmland, the chicken farms are all dead, almost all the cattle are dead.

The water is gone.

All the grain processing plants have been bombed.

People are eating cactus and animal feed.

They are trying to catch fish at the beaches but ocassionally are bombed there, as you saw when the aid drop happened.

They also don’t have most boats anymore.
This, this is why we have the Geneva convention after WW2.

It’s genocide.
