#VisionProHandsOn One of the most immersive Apple Vision Pro experiences for me is one of the simplest: stand arm’s length from a big wall in my living room, dial the crown to about 180° immersion, and it’s as though my wall is gone and opens onto real scenery.
At full 360° you can’t walk more than a step before the environment fades away for safety, but at 180° you can take several steps back and forth. Feels very real! A great view while thinking or on a phone call. #VisionPro#AppleVisionPro
Today at 11am EST / 8am PST / 4pm CET I will be a guest on Alex Lindsay's (MacBreak) Office Hours morning show to talk about #moog Animoog Galaxy for #VisionPro. Hope you can tune in!
With all due respect for those who are now working with Apple Vision Pro (which seems, huh, quite good btw)... I guess the more immersive is a VR app, the better. Why should I have gigantic calculators and calendars in AR in a living room?
The launch of a new Apple platform is a major milestone but for me between social media, news and podcasts I’m a little bored of it. In hearing the same conversation, especially on podcasts. I’m not for one minute annoyed at anyone that has one or is talking about it but for me I have specific use cases I’m not hearing about.
I’m thinking a VisionOS app that displays a 3D bookcase with 3D readable books would be enough reason for me to buy a VisionPro, if the bookcase fit in with my decor.
#VisionProHandsOn Here’s a video of SIX ways to resize windows in Apple Vision Pro.
“Size” can mean…
• Amount of your view a window occupies in degrees
• Amount of workspace it contains for UI/content
• Physical size in the world
• Size in screen pixels (an indirect and variable factor)
Example: a small workspace that only fits a few items could be large in the world, if the fonts/UI are big. Or vice versa. Either way, the size in your view depends on distance.
🎉 I’m thrilled to announce HomeUI is now available on the Vision Pro App Store! HomeUI lets you put accessory and scene controls all around your home to seamlessly integrate HomeKit smart home tech into visionOS.
Idea I just had for #VisionPro and exercise: Can it understand when you walk on a treadmill? Maybe if you tell it you're doing a (probably indoor) walking workout through your phone or Watch?
Cuz that full view VR feature could be kinda cool for immersing yourself entirely in a different environment while you get some basic exercise. Imagine walking through Jurassic Park or along the surface of the sun. #Apple
What do you do if you're hard of hearing or can't hear the audio instructions while setting up Persona on Apple Vision Pro?
It turns out that the patterns shown on the EyeSight screen are visual cues:
Four concentric circles: Smile with your mouth closed.
Three concentric circles: Smile showing your teeth.
@danilo the cameras need to get much sharper though. My entire world is just low res now. It’s great compared to other pass through but has to get better
Part of the whole #visionpro discourse I’ve yet to see is, because of the high cost, how will this get into the hands of people with low income?
iPhone/smartphones in general only became ubiquitous because of carrier subsidies. People could get hands on without thousands of dollars out of pocket.
No matter how good or revolutionary a tech is, if it’s only available to a tiny part of the population, it will remain a footnote.
@operationpuppet I suspect you’ve yet to see it because it’s an obvious, repeating pattern in electronics manufacturing
Yields increase as processes are improved, allowing greater volumes to be produced
Inflation adjusted, early Macs cost around $10k. Flat panel TVs were tens of thousands of dollars. LCD monitors were once priced exclusively for the enterprise
Ultra-high density display optics and the image processing silicon necessary to drive them will have the same pricing curve #VisionPro
