If you care about an open Internet, contact the creators you enjoy watching and encourage them to move to decentralized platforms like PeerTube. I can promise you, it only gets worse from here with #YouTube
@tilvids Not sure what "third-party" apps they're talking about because they mention API use and the only 3rd party apps I use don't make use of youtube's API... Piped: Unaffected, YTDLP: Unaffected, NewPipe: Unaffected, SmartTube: unaffected.
The only app i've noticed any recent change on was revanced, which is not a third party app, its a mod of their official first party app and the fix was just to patch a newer youtube version.
Auch deswegen nutze ich YouTube nicht direkt, sondern Links über @invidious* oder nutze es mobil via @newpipe*, um Videos zu sehen und so weit frei vom Tracking zu sein. Leider sind noch nicht sehr viele anregende Videoproduktionen im Fediverse zB auf @peertube vertreten.

Da es sich auf mehreren Servern aufhält, ist die Suche damit übergreifend auf mehrere Anbietern. Dies nach gewünschten #Video's über die unten aufgeführte #Suchmaschine geht praktisch & simpel.
Letzter Zeit bin ich oft auf dem #PeerTube und habe dort Abos, die ich hier im #Fediverse mir ansehe oder das oben erwähnte App.
Wie cool ist das denn? Habe gerade ein Addon gesucht, das mir aus YT Links Invidious Links macht, und habe das Addon von @aymm gefunden - einem metalhead.club Member! 🤘

100% of ads I get on #YouTube's mobile app are scam and reporting it doesn't make any difference, because most of the time YouTube's content moderation team claims it can't find anything "wrong" about them or that they are violating their ToS. And if they do decide to take one down, it doesn't matter, because the same ad gets instantly re-uploaded by a shitload of other accounts.
