@designfactotum Katakis, which became Denaris because of legal pressure by R-Type's Irem. After which Factor 5 made the C64 and Amiga conversions of R-Type. Good times. 💚
Ich habe gerade eine Einladung zu einem der nächsten Computerclub Treffen für Retro Freunde bekommen. Da lerne ich dann hoffentlich noch einige Gleichgesinnte mehr kennen.

Another evening of "work" and I finished implementing the chainlighting spell for our #roguelike on #c64 . The problem was there were too many enemies and so I died (also I had to spend two turns standing still to recover stamina).
The animation is a bit fast, but you should still be able to appreciate @politopo 's great #pixelart
@jbzfn the Currah speech synthesizer also existed for the Spectrum… and of course Macintalk was there from the first Mac. Of course, being 32/16 bit was almost cheating, compared to the other 80's computers…
After getting the #Commodore#C64 and #C128 running again, the next device to repair is the #C1571.
It had #corrosion and #rust on the main board and the power supply is beyond repairworthiness. I'd replace the latter with a #meanwell RD-35 with 5 and 12 volt output.
One #diode was rusty, a few traces needed #cleaning and five #resistor looked bad. Hope the black hybrid chip is still okay.
Sadly, the lower read head seems to be broken, my work might've been in vain. #floppydrive#retrocomputer
@rommudoh there is hope for the read/write head. If it’s one open wire you can probably save it. Check my last video and/or Forum64 (link in video description).
Using Visual Studio & Vice emulator with Kick Asembler to develop native Commodore 64 programs in assembly language. Even pushes your symbols to the monitor!
@gimulnautti At the dawn of time certain individuals held the belief that using an assembler is lame, because it takes away the fun of calculating addresses by hand. A monitor should be enough for everyone, right? 🙃
