Everyone seems to admire , but now I saw a repost from a scam/troll account disguised as Microsoft. they also put a "Verified" badge near their name. That's why a very small number of official corporations' and celebrities' accounts will migrate to Fediverse, in my opinion. needs either a verification system or at least a notion of verified instances, love it or hate it.

If you're talking about brands.town, then it's an entire instance dedicated for parody accounts. They're not verified. Verification requires official website to have a link back to fedi account. Like my site in the profile.
Any check signs are just emoji in the name 🤷

@skobkin Oh, it was a super old post of mine :). Now I see that many entities register their own (sub)domains like mastodon.fancyInc.com or fancyInc.social.

@menelion Yeah. Thats another benefit of the Fedi. Such companies know that they're in control of their social media instance.
Not saying that there no problems or challenges coming with that too.
