Some time ago the bar stopped suggesting your most used URL at the top when you type in it, and instead shows the top level of the domain of your most used URL. Say I want to go to proton.me/inbox every time I type p. Previously I could type p and hit enter, because the most used URL was suggested. Now proton.me is the top suggestion and I have to arrow down before enter every single time
@dale@mconley Also, for some reason, the built in search for already opened tabs works really badly when you have a lot of open tabs, so I have to have a third party extension installed to do something that is already built into the browser.
Yeah, I've been wanting to mention this to someone working on Firefox for a long time, so sorry if you always get unrelated bugs and feature requests thrown after you every time you talk about your work. And thank you for what you do! :)
The heuristic one is tricky, I didnt work on that but usually only changes when there are strong signals its a change for the good and every single change is going to not work ideally for someone.
@dale Thanks! Tab search does seem to be better now, actually! But IMO it should default to show tab search at the top of the suggestions, is there a way to do that?
I understand that you all of course only try to make changes for the better! But I don't understand how it's better to show something at the top of the suggestions other than open tabs or most commonly used URL. Why would I need proton.me suggested when I choose proton.me/inbox every single time?
