@exador23 Fascinating species, they only grow on the north facing side of the hills here, not west or south, and they are limited to a tiny bit of range here wedged between the city. (there's also a population of cholla here not found anywhere else). I'm wondering if that's a result of the homes protecting the monkeyflower and cholla from the sheep they used to run here, a vagary of the geology/soils, or what.
@exador23 Possible. They are extremely dense here -- forest of monkeyflower, impassable. No idea what pollinates these particular ones (it's not bees!).
