@fredbrooker I do love both, and yeah any physical medium will degrade, cassettes and CDs too. Some of my love of physical media is the weird aspects of it. But yeah as long as you grab those files off em, that's where it's at. Those precious mp3s and FLACs 😍😂
@fredbrooker 4TB!! Wow haha. I've gained and lost many over the years, I do have over 50GB on one computer now and my phone has over 22GB, there's some overlap. But stuff is mostly full til I expand 😂

@dinozombie@BlackenedGreen I may do a weird one like that. Yesterday I had the idea to record myself doing dishes as loud death metal blared in the background. I may have a video of that around eventually once I sit down and watch them haha. 'Death metal dishes' 😂 I'm just like,. ..ALWAYS doing dishes
@jake4480@dinozombie no, records are great. They're just so big and not so mobile you know? Heat's a thing too, coming from where you are. I'm getting back into CDs now, just gotta remember not to toss them around in the car 😂
@BlackenedGreen@dinozombie absolutely. And I'm pretty much at the end of record buying season til like, next Jan because yeah, sitting in the heat in shipping trucks is no good. But yeah, that's why I cut down years ago. I had like, 5 crates full. Now I have about 20? Or less? haha. Just stuff I REALLY love, stuff that means a lot to me.
@jake4480 great post! I started geting into vinyl a couple years ago and it ended up being such a fun thing. the adventure of going to record stores and flea markets and flipping through a bunch of albums to find random gems
@moldyringwald haha thank you! It's so cool to see its resurgence lately, and yeah hunting at places can be so fun! I've found some wild stuff 😂 I dug my parents records, they didn't even have many, but then I started grabbing em as a teen and never stopped. Had TOO MANY for a while and had to thin down. But I have about 20 now I really love. And the collection grows!
