mwfc, 9 months ago @jeffhorton you might find https://a.gup.pe/ a nice service too as a example group https://a.gup.pe/u/academicchatter has around 3700 members and you can create your own groups for free https://a.gup.pe/u/rstats and https://a.gup.pe/u/sociology have plenty of users too (basicly gup.pe boosts all posts in which it gets mentioned, hence all followers will receive updates :)
