A year ago I started a little personal #Fedi project to every week share #newRelease music + a variety of other tracks from all sorts of eras & genres too.
I called it #BearTracks for my own humour & just to sort of see what I was doing.
It's over 500 tracks now. Lots of good music, quite a bit you might not have heard.
@ArtBear this is awesome! back in the day on two different (now defunct) social networks, i had something like that i did too. i had a couple hundred tracks, and that took me awhile (and i got compliments). but 500? hats off, artbear! heading off to yt to follow it. as i work my way thru over the next few months, i’ll share the ones that grab me here and @ you too. 🌸✌️❤️🎤🎧🎸🎹🎺🥁
@ArtBear or…wait.,.did it let me? i don’t actually know what the little plus on youtube did. it added something. the whole list? or just the song that is up? (first song). i don’t like youtube as much as spotify except for sharing, which is faster and easier. anyway, gotta do other stuff. excited to have cool music to go thru little by little! ❤️
#newRelease
Dolly Parton just dropped like a 30 track album, there's a few new songs, loads of collabs/duets ranging from Sting+ Every Breath You Take to using classic recordings from Lynyrd Skynyrd for Free Bird.
It's 1990, and a gateway single to the Madchester scene for a lot of people was this track. I might still recall the code to the jukebox I'd play it on.
Norman Cook did a remix-lite little tidy around on the track in 2003 that mostly just punched up the production a little.
#NewRelease#NewMusic from the 2nd album that's coming from Tropic Vibration. They fuse a lot of styles, plenty to enjoy in their tracks.
This time around they've added to their signature funky upbeat blend of reggae, atmospheric EDM/Dubstep elements & (spanish) guitar with pan pipes too.
I enjoy their Future Roots album btw, maybe check it out if this is your groove.
The exquisite talent of welsh songwriter, multi-instrumental musician and singer, Ali Lacey. He has so many songs that reach right in to you, it's impossible to pick.
Wow, breaking news...
ok not really but I've properly tagged n shared (at least) 600 tracks on the #Fedi in the last year. This is number 600 according to my spotify playlist.
Ok it's #FridayFeeling, & I'm sharing a yummy synthy retro 80s vibe bubble pop treat called 'Weekend'. OhMyDog like selecta genius at work eh?!?😂 Well anyway it's a good track, on any day.
An evening reflecting on change, losses, missteps, new direction.
I do want to believe in some weird way that life's losses can send us to where we were meant to end up even when change is difficult & the way forward uncertain.
It's rare & special to like an album as much after 30years as the first day you heard it. It now holds some additional layers of the times I've played it, and events in my life.
When I joined the #Fediverse a year ago, I almost immediately started to look for #hashtags of bands I like
I found most had no entries at all. So I thought I'll share a few tracks, each week & tag them fully. New releases & good stuff people are maybe less aware of. It'll build over time
I thought I'd done 500, turns out I just passed 600
Maybe it's stupid & pointless but I like to think that when other new people arrive, if they search a hashtag for a band maybe they find something & stay
I love how he shares the uncertainty and vulnerability relating to love, yet appreciation and optimism, also. I think of when Yoko Ono said, "Love is when you can relax with another unguarded, finally." Appreciation reduces complexities and the pair grow together, as well as, individually (preventing stagnancy). Some make it there and I bet it's sublime! To me, this song dances on these points with a gorgeous, oceanic view. I hope he reaches his destination ❤️🤞
