@GottaLaff while foolishly attempting to intimidate the photographer, he's met the standard for idiotic bully. be laughable if everyone could see this for what he actually is.
@LenaLia He wasn't trying to intimidate the photographer, he was trying to rile his base and intimidate everyone else. This was clearly rehearsed in front of his mirror.
@DebR Actually, that’s his usual look, his rehearsed look, and he uses it in every pic that he can. He just exaggerated it a little so he could use it on merch.
I agree - he was trying to do his heavily rehearsed "stern" look. But I think he executed it poorly for the mugshot. To me, he looks like a cornered and frightened small animal.
I guess it will probably still have the desired effect on his supporters, but I doubt he'll use it on his merch. Even if he executed the look properly, it captures him in a submissive moment, and he would hate that.
I was just trying to find his campaign merch shop - I was curious to see if he altered the mugshot at all.
But, in any case, if Republicans did see the photo as unflattering, they'd feel wounded and enraged by it, like we'd feel if someone kidnapped our loved one and posted a photo of them in captivity along with a ransom note.
@GottaLaff This is insane. I thought he'd try to put on a certain look for his followers and such, but I thought it would be a look of levity like "I know I'm innocent and they have nothing" or something. Instead, frankly, he hit straight up serial killer look here...
@GottaLaff Oh you caught me in that I generally do not try to look very closely at that man's face. I find it sickening as a whole. I also don't look at Hitler's face too much. It's a thing with me.
But I know as a sociopath he does things like faking emotion and etc a lot. If he never fakes a smile or anything I admit that surprises me since most do (see the famous DeSantis delayed smile as he remembers "oh yeah, a normal person would smile here.") Still, I expected levity even so.
@GottaLaff Well, note the wording there. I say "levity." That means not necessarily smiling, but still playing it off as no big deal. He does do that a lot in a lot of things. So expected a slightly more normal (for him) slightly less, well, serial killer look. I mean he went straight up Hannibal Lector here...
@nazokiyoubinbou Again, this is the norm for him. All he did was practice it and apply it in front of a new camera. This was all calculated ahead of time. He wants his anger to rile up his violent base.
@GottaLaff You're probably right. In the end what it comes down to is I just can't really understand the inner workings of a sociopath. As I am not a psychiatrist or anything like that I guess it would be weird if I did.
