@marcelias Swift accountability creates proper deterrence. For the good of protecting the American people's democracy.
"Although many of those who attacked the Capitol on January 6, 2021, have faced criminal consequences, so far the officials and politicians who incited them to violence have not."
You don't know my piece on #Reagonomics 1) , but absolutely!
And I believed this until recently. Then I got into a discussion with some who really did studies in that field. And we found out it goes way further back. 1930s/1940s. 2)
I am not sure if the convo is still available, if so I'll post it.
@marcelias It would reeeeeaaaally help if the Democratic leadership correctly called out the Republican leadership as fascist & acted accordingly. Instead we get appeasement of whites supremacists & oligarchs, with the insistence from Biden on down that “nothing will fundamentally change”
@marcelias Your comments today were so good, and much more extensive than what you shared in this short clip. In particular, you pointed out that there are now many more maga republicans in the house (around 200) than there were on Jan. 6. It’s such an important reminder that the party has morphed into extremism. (Yet they call themselves conservatives, as they wreck, rather than conserve — and the “both sides” corporate media follows suit in applying this more genteel, less accurate label😒)
@marcelias thank you. (Please suggest to her and all her guests that they leave Twitter because it will surely be a cesspool for continued misinformation & democracy destroying)
