Of course I'm very concerned about all #blackout of #communications from #Gaza & inability for #journalists to report to public, from the ground. My bigger worries about this intentional communications blackout is that it affects all #HumanitarianAid organizing communications & all on the ground #emergency#rescue communications. Those are the most important communications ATM for all civilians & aid workers, trapped under constant siege bombardment.

#UNHCR and others have multiple #SATCOM links and with line-of-sight to #Egypt connectivity to their #Mobile networks is still possible and working, espechally near #Rafah...
#GSM allows about 38km LOS connectivity, so abusing a #Satellite dish and shoving an #LTE stick should provide connectivity to #Israel|i and Egyptian Networks anywhere with LOS to a tower...
@kkarhan I really hope you're right because emergency communications are needed. Ambulances won't be able to help ppl soon as they are running out of gas. Zero aid is allowed into Northern Gaza. This is all horrific.
@kkarhan I read a post that UN can't reach their aid workers. I really hope it is wrong. I don't know for sure & neither does anyone outside area. All I do know is I've been in areas under conflict but not under full sieges & our comms were targeted intentionally to reduce our abilities to get humanitarian aid, reduce our abilities to get medical help & prevented media from sending out reports from the ground.
Have you experienced being in places where state cuts all comms on purpose?
