Thanks to borrowing an eSIM from @zonuexe, I've now tested all four physical Japanese mobile networks, including the elusive Rakuten Mobile. My phone didn't lock onto their #5G, but seeing #LTE on them was good enough.
That's in addition to LTE and 5G on SoftBank and NTT, plus LTE on KDDI, that I was able to source myself :)

W związku z ostatnim przetargiem na częstotliwości LTE które wygrały duże GSM-y, z rynku znikną mniejsi niezależni dostawcy, którzy świadczyli usługi dostępu do internetu w technologii LTE.
Doszły mnie słuchy, że w takich przypadkach obowiązuje rok "karencji", nie można ot tak wejść w te częstotliwości i "zagłuszyć" sygnał tych niezależnych dostawców (przez rok?).
Macie może wiedzę albo linki, bym mógł doczytać, jak to jest w praktyce?
Co może taki "mały" dostawca w tej sytuacji?
A może to bujda i nie ma żadnego okresu przejściowego?
Jeśli instalujecie #DIY#LTE z anteną zewnętrzną kierunkową (tzw. #ODU lub antena na kablu, lub 2 kablach) to może wam się przydać mapa i wyszukiwarka #BTS (czyli stacji bazowych operatorów #GSM, masztów).
Kompas w telefonie pozwala ustawić kierunek "zgrubnie", warto później sprawdzić wskazania poziomu sygnału w routerze/modemie by "dopieścić" ustawienie kierunku.
W zależności od przeszkód terenowych, nie zawsze najbliższy BTS obsłuży wasz modem najlepiej. Warto pokombinować. Również raz ustawiony może z czasem stać się nieoptymalnym, np. przez zwiększenie ilości urządzeń abonenckich. Warto wtedy pokombinować z innymi dostępnymi. Podobnie operatorzy oferują w danej lokalizacji różną jakość. Warto dobrać odpowiedniego.
#5G update: #TMobile has dropped 2.5 GHz (Band 41) #LTE entirely in a number of markets, including Austin, widening n41 by the same amount. I think the #Austin switchover happened at ~9:20am this morning as a friend briefly lost connectivity right around then (probably cell site reboot), prompting me to look at my phone's field test.
I found a sweet, sweet 100 + 80 MHz of #n41 live, which is well above what #Verizon or #att can bring online with #CBand right now.
Had a hunch that LTE reception would be better up the drive than where the antenna is currently, up on the chimney.
Our drive goes uphill, much higher than the house and, unlike the chimney, has no trees in the way, so is a bit of a no-brainer but somehow hadn't occurred to me.
So strung a bunch of extension cords together and took the router for a walk....
And yes, MUCH better reception even with just the cheap omni antenna that came with the router. RSRP up 20 DBm. Upstream speeds more than doubled to 85mbit. Several additional LTE cells now in range too!
So all that time up the ladder was completely unnecessary, aargh!
So, a new project for this year is to run power and ethernet up the drive!

Some time ago I struggled to bridge my disrupted DLS internet connection through #LTE#Mobile connection.
Sadly I was only partly successful.
It turn out the #SIM I got from my provider doesn't work with LTE USB sticks, just with their LTE router 😠
Now I ask myself, how is this done?
I would like to understand the SIM registration and connection process. I guess there is a device id sent when the SIM connects but would like to understand more.

Es sieht so aus das der Tarif wirklich nur mit dem Router der Telekom funktionieret:

Update für die einzelnen Geräte in Folge-Posts
#DSL Anschluss geht gerade nicht.
Die #Telekom hat mir deshalb eine LTE Router mit MagentaZuhause Schnellstart Tarif geschickt.
Damit könnte ich prinzipiell zwar ins Internet, würde das gerne weiter über die #Fritzbox laufen lassen.
Dabei scheiterte ich. Der original Huawei Router der Telekom (E5785-320a) wird beim Anschluss über USB an der Fritzbox nicht als mobile Verbindung erkannt. Ein anderer Huawei Router (E5738B-230) und ein LTE USB Stick (ZTE B66588) wurden von der Fritzbox zwar erkannt. Es sieht auch so aus als ob eine Verbindung aufgebaut wird, allerdings werden keine Daten übertragen ☹️
Ich weiß jetzt nicht ob ich war falsch mache oder ob der Tarif an den Router gebunden ist.
Wenn ich die SIM Karten in den Router einlege bekomme ich scheinbar eine Verbindung.
Allerdings wird "4G TDK" als Gegenstelle angezeigt (beim Telekom Router war es "LTE Telekom.de")

Wenn ich den Route an die #Fritzbox anschließe bekomme ich:

Ausfallschutz: Die primäre Internetverbindung ist derzeit nicht verfügbar. Die
Ersatzverbindung über Mobilfunk wird aktiviert.
Wenn die Internetverbindung funktionieren würde, wäre ich jetzt vermutlich am Ziel.
Ich sehe zwar keine Fehler beim LTE Verbindungsaufbau, die Fritzbox sagt aber weiterhin "kein Internet"
Der sollte laut Recherche mit der Fritzbox funktionieren
Kurzfassung, mit dem gab es ein ähnliches Resultat wie mit #Huawei E5738B-230.
Er scheint eine Internetverbindung aufzubauen, die #Fritzbox erkennt ihn, bietet mir sogar an auf sein Weboberfläche zu gehen, es kommt aber weiter keine Datenübertragung zu stande.

Thursday and Friday is when T-Mobile Home Internet seems the busiest. You would think the weekend, such as Saturday or Sunday, but nope, Thursday and Friday is usually when the network acts odd. I assume this is when it is congested.
Of course I'm very concerned about all #blackout of #communications from #Gaza & inability for #journalists to report to public, from the ground. My bigger worries about this intentional communications blackout is that it affects all #HumanitarianAid organizing communications & all on the ground #emergency#rescue communications. Those are the most important communications ATM for all civilians & aid workers, trapped under constant siege bombardment.

#GSM allows about 38km LOS connectivity, so abusing a #Satellite dish and shoving an #LTE stick should provide connectivity to #Israel|i and Egyptian Networks anywhere with LOS to a tower...
