@molly0xfff FTX implodes in 11/2022 and Bankman-Fried is sentenced 16 months later. Trump incites an insurrection in 1/2021 and 3+ years later jury selection is nowhere in sight.
@molly0xfff If I'm not mistaken, the incident was limited only to FTX in America. In some countries, the money was returned to its owners. Sounds a bit 'interesting' to me.
He has also been ordered to pay the $11 billion monetary judgment requested by the prosecution. This is on top of assets already seized by the government.
@molly0xfff@mistersql I believe that 85% number isn't quite as true anymore. This CNN article says that nonviolent inmates can reduce their terms by 50% rather than 15%. And since white collar crimes are defined as non-violent despite the deaths they might cause, he could be out in 12.5 years.
@Jer@mistersql i think he would still serve much of the sentence under home confinement under the First Step Act, though I'm not an expert. Not that home confinement has historically slowed him down much...
@molly0xfff well that's a few more than 8 months or whatever it was he was looking for. I won't say "Good" because the prison system is awful but I hope it will give him time to think about what he's done.
