I always tell people they may not want to celebrate themselves but the people who love you do want to celebrate you. But in the end I would never plan something someone didn't want to do or had no interest in.

When we were younger we were very adventurous. Also very broke.
@RickiTarr I like to walk and also to lounge about. Always look to go somewhere that has good opportunities for both (I'd rather not lounge about indoors as I can do that at home).
Above all, though, I like to go and buy food. Absolutely love food shopping in other countries.
@RickiTarr our family vacations tend to involve a lot of cultural immersion, museums, and other adventures. We’re all basically on the same page about that. We have friends who live very differently, however, including one family of beach-layabouts, whose daughter complained about a trip to DC “This is like a Toast family vacation, I’m exhausted!”
@RickiTarr Sounds like you need a cruise. Plenty of time to pass out in a lounge chair, but also go do touristy stuff when you're in port. You could even do different stuff and then meet back up for dinner to chat about the day.

I'm joking. But vacation were rare and generally spent as staycations or catching up on big chores around the house. But the first few days... sleeping!!
