I have always loved the Zoloft mascot and I just googled it and apparently they refer to him as the BLOB so of course that poor little guy is depressed.

OK, while stipulating I am the LAST person any rational person should date, we can all agree anyone who DOESN'T tick any political leaning on their dating profile, where there is definitely a political-leaning box to tick, in the year 2024 is pretty likely fascist or so fascist-adjacent as to be also-fascist, right?

@GrimmReality I hate to tell you, but the majority of people just do not follow politics. Even this year. They legitimately don't even know their political leaning because they use the Internet for celebrity gossip. They think MSNBC viewers are nerds.

It's strange to me when I see people get upset about people doing good deeds, and posting it online.

"They're just doing it for attention!"

Yeah, so what? I'd much rather see people doing nice things for attention, than the people who do mean pranks or wasting food. A good deed is still good, even if it's done for the wrong reasons.

@RickiTarr You're focusing on the deed, but what sticks out to me is the attention.

My attention is mine, but so much in this world tries to get it from me. I work really hard to guard my attention, and I feel like I'm failing most of the time. My attention hardly ever goes where I want it.

Doing a good deed for attention is better than getting it a lot of other ways. That's for sure.

But anything that draws attention feels like an intrusion. It feels selfish, this stranger yanking on my consciousness in any way at all. I didn't have to be involved, but they demanded I play a part anyway.
