I’m curious, northern hemisphere folk. If you were able to see Aurora Borealis last night:

  • Was this your first time?
  • How far ‘south’ are you (roughly - I’m not in the business of doxxing you)?
  • How old are you (again, be as vague as you feel)?

Please do reply and boost. I get the sense that there were a lot of first-timers and a feeling of shared awe last night and I’d love to know just how far that was felt :neofox_heart:

@lukito
I’m in Sacramento valley (CA) and saw the aurora for the first time-I’m 82. I couldn’t get a good photo, but it was amazing to see a pinkish sky at midnight. Others posted great photos on Reddit from the whole NorCal region.

@lukito I'm at close to 59⁰ north, but it was cloudy last night. I'll try again if there is a chance tonight.

First time I saw it in this area was probably late 90s. I also lived a year at 69⁰ north, and saw auroras all winter, so it's not quite as exciting any more. It depends on the colour. I've seen a lot of boring faint green ones. 😊
