Do you see a series of sunken rectangles or 16 circles?
This is The Coffer Illusion.
Our brains are geared toward identifying objects & here, “pixels” are grouped to form edges & contours, shapes, & objects. The image is inherently ambiguous so there is no “right” grouping.
Rectangles dominate first for most people - including me, but keep staring & the image may flip to circles.

Rectangles at first, then circles.(I can flip them.)
Unfocusing a bit, or focusing past it, I get the 3-D effect, though the second row isnt' as good that way.
@Sheril I saw the circles at first glance, then read your post and could only see the rectangles. Had to glance away and look back before the circles reappeared.
@Sheril circles?? lol Who in their right mind would see circles? This must be one of those troll posts.. there's no way a circle is..... well I'll be damned! 😮
Tho this particular optical puzzle is new to me, my brain immediately lock down on the 90 degree angles everywhere which kinda stops it from flipping to circles?
