From 60s R&B funk to sludge metal in the mid-2010s, a couple of 45s from classic New Orleans bands, The Meters and Eyehategod. Picked up at local NOLA recod shop, Sisters In Christ, along with a fun tote.
@historyofpunkrock Picked up some photo frames at a garage sale for $2. Just the right size for some of my old favourite 7" #45rpm favourites. (Actual vinyl stored separately, of course.)
This is the picture cover for the Sex Pistols' PRETTY VACANT from 1977. Still has a small WH Smith (UK retailer) price tag on the front - for 65p! A real bargain.

The classic 'Rockaway Beach' 45 cover from the Ramones, also 1977. Looks pretty good on the wall... Sounds pretty good, too.
@historyofpunkrock And finally, the best #xmas song of all time - 'Fairy Tale of New York' by the Pogues. It was signed for me by the man who wrote it - Shane MacGowan.
Shane is unwell at the moment and I wish him all the peace and love in the Universe. He will always have a special place in our hearts.

1993 UK 7” single #45rpm
One of my all time favorite #90s songs!!! The complete album is borderline impossible to find (only ‘92 pressings from Brazil and Spain were pressed), so until somebody comes to their senses and reissues it, this single (along with the one for “Dim”) will have to do.
It’s a great album. Somebody needs to get on that. It’s not like I.R.S. is some super obscure label. #vinyl#vinylrecords#90smusic

1966 Canada 7” pressing #45rpm
I’m 99% certain I got sunstroke today. It’s hot as hell outside & feel like The Elephant Man.
I battled through to dig through a ton more #45s today for about an hour, & found another 20 or so gems.
This is for sentimental purposes, and the 8 year old version of myself, the lover of the #batman tv show from ‘66. This cover is different than the U.S., but it’s the same record. #vinyl#vinylrecords#dc#dccomics
Bryan Hoffa is a library audio preservation specialist with the Library of Congress. In this video he shows us how 78rpm records are cleaned and digitized for the LOC. He also shares some interesting variables about the inconsistencies of 78s.
@markwyner I never had #78rpm#vinyl and didn't even know that this exists 🤷🏻♂️ One of my luckiest "mistakes" has been listening to #slayer#45rpm "Hell Awaits" with the "wrong" speed #33rpm. Damn, this Tom Araya still was singing so fast I couldn't unterstand and follow him 🤘🏻🤣

Have fun listening to "your favorite albums (being played) far slower than they should be played at"! ❤️
