"A Winnipeg man who says he was scammed out of hundreds of dollars...
"when he hit a problem moving his Facebook account over to the new phone, his wife did an online search and found what appeared to be a phone number for Facebook customer support"
"Families in Uvalde took more legal action Friday on the second anniversary of the Robb Elementary School attack, suing Meta Platforms, which owns Instagram..
It's impossible to prove, but I don't think Trump could have won in 2016 without Facebook. Every Republican I've known from high school and college has been very active on Facebook in adulthood. It's where a lot of them get their "news." I've seen former friends and classmates post disinformation there. It's also where QAnon spread (even in seemingly unlikely places, like new moms groups), where Dan Bongino spews #misinformation.
«An advocacy group is calling on Canadians to #boycott#Facebook and #Instagram later this week.
The #FriendsOfCanadianBroadcasting group began asking people Monday to stop posting content on Meta's platforms on Aug. 23 and 24 to show that Canadians won't be pushed around by #Meta, which decided to pull news from #Canadian publishers from its platforms in response to federal legislation.»
@iuculano CTV News would do better reporting if they listed their website, instead of giving people false hope that they need Meta for a link to updates in news? I use a News Reader, and haven't been to Meta in years, and not in Twitter since Nov 2022. My news has not been interrupted. They should just boycott Meta for all the horrible things it represents
