Garden centres in UK stockpile plants before new checks

Yet another

government will introduce physical checks for many plant and animal products coming into Britain from the EU on 30 April as part of its new border target operating model

However, plant sellers & growers have consistently raised concerns that checks could cause delays & lead to some being destroyed or damaged

Applying for a GHIC to replace my out of date EHIC, and it smells of all the bullshit you'd associate with . The "G" stands for "Global" so it's clearly a . Except it turns out it is accepted any place globally, so long as that place is the EU (or Switzerland). So not better at all.

Thinking of going wild swimming? Best to check the Surfers Against Sewage app before you go https://www.sas.org.uk/water-quality/sewage-pollution-alerts/

The UK is no longer adhering to the EU Bathing Water Directive, so swimming is sewage is just another of those

Any violin experts amongst my followers? What would be the tiniest violins around?

As I am just reading in a Polish trucking magazine that British HGV driver on regular run to the Netherlands was fined and banned temporarily from entering the EU after exceeding his 90 days limit: https://40ton.net/brytyjski-kierowca-ciezarowki-zbyt-czesto-przebywal-w-schengen-kara-oraz-zakaz/

Btw: did you know that holidays AND work come under that 90 days limit? So if you are a British trucker that goes to the EU regularly, gone are your holidays in Spain.
