At 516 AM PST, Doppler radar & automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
Wednesday (1/31) thru Friday (02/02/24)
Moderate to heavy rainfall will bring the potential for moderate to rapid rises along area rivers, streams & creeks across the region. This could result in nuisance as well as minor #flooding. Although most sites are forecast to remain below flood stage, some locations may reach monitor stage, especially in Sonoma County & Santa Cruz County. Ensemble guidance shows a greater than 25 percent chance of reaching #flood stage on the Russian River at Guerneville & monitor stage on the San Lorenzo River at Big Trees by Thursday.

Roadway flooding already being reported near Forestville long SR 116. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Localized ponding of water in low-lying or poorly drained areas, such as freeway offramps.

IMPACTS: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Tidal levels are running about a third to a half foot above predictions. By high tide Sunday morning (peaking at around 10 AM PST), there will likely to be more minor coastal flooding.
