The bitter election result (due in part to our own mistakes) is a disaster for us, the progressive parties as a whole and for digital civil liberties. We will live to regret this. The conservatives and far right triumph, which will mean less #transparency and less #freedom – only mentioning #ChatControl and #EUGoingDark. None of this has even been discussed in the runup to this election.

We noticed populist right-wing forces co-opting "open-source" by "supporting its adoption".
However, they stand for isolationism (hidden behind "tech sovereignty"), and against international collaboration, openness and transparency; which are what makes #FreeSoftware awesome.
Very important for Swedes to vote in the EU Election. Privacy is a fundamental human right, even when there are bad people doing bad things. Mass surveillance by the government does more harm than good.

É na Europa e nos próximos cinco anos que vamos ter a única hipótese de cumprir as metas climáticas. Even ignoring the super scary impact #ChatControl, and other attempts at destroying our digital privacy, will have, it also won't stop what they claim that they want to stop.
The people that this will mainly affect are normal innocent people, and a few of the dumber criminals.
People who care about their privacy will find ways around it, and some of those will sell these workarounds to criminals and probably get rich from it.
But they don't really want this to stop crime, do they?
In my opinion, the participants in the #Chatcontrol / #EUGoingDark conspiracy should have to face personal consequences for planning #totalitarian policies.

Lo riporta Euractiv e lo confermano documenti interni. La Francia considera in linea di principio la nuova proposta di “moderazione degli upload” come un’opzione praticabile
@pirati@eticadigitale esatto, se chi ha scritto la legge è competente lo sa che l'ostacolo e aggirabile, e il vero obiettivo è il controllo delle comunicazioni.
Se chi ha scritto la legge non è competente, allora possiamo provare a spiegare che è inutile.
Comunque sia, è importante spiegare che non funziona! Dietro #chatcontrol o c'è dolo o incompetenza, non vedo altre spiegazioni.
