Being official basically means that when you see something needing done it's your responsibility to take care of it.
Simple things included, like changing over the empty tissue box.
I enjoyed being part of the team, setting up and serving communion, and welcoming people at the front door.
I truly believe that to fully serve God I have to serve in his church.
Saint Columba of Iona's Church in the Woodside area of Glasgow. Designed by Gillespie, Kidd and Coia in a modern twist on the Italian Romanesque style, it was built in 1937.
Exploring Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, I walk a lot even though it is very hot and the humidity is exhausting.
Especially the old streets are pure eye-candy when it comes to architecture and details. Nowadays I only take photos with my phone, I sold the Nikon. Sometimes I miss my DSLR.

The rather stunning Shawlands Cross Church on the Southside of Glasgow. Designed by Miller and Black in a distinctive Late Perpendicular Gothic style, it was built in 1900.
Saint Mungo gazing out across Pollokshaws Road from Saint Ninian's Church in Glasgow, with the fish with the ring in its mouth below him, and the remains of a tram rosette (used to support electrical wires for Glasgow's tram system) just to his left. I've often wondered what people made of these being attached to churches when they were first installed at the end of the 19th Century.
The remnants of Pollokshields-Glencairn Church on Shields Road. Designed by W.G. Rowan and built in 1891, it was destroyed by a fire in 1988. This fragment, with its impressively sculptured arch, was salvaged and re-built in a reduced form in the grounds of a modern housing development built in its place. Almost hidden by trees, few passing on Sheilds Road will notice it.
