We're in Le Havre today, resting our feet in a craft ale bar (surprise!) after walking around for several hours with no firm plans. We've seen some very nice sights and great architecture but none nicer than the Église Saint-Joseph designed by the mentor of Le Corbusier, Auguste Perret. It is absolutely incredible and really difficult to describe, sorry.
John Burnet Senior's 1870s French Gothic Church of Saint Jude's Congregation on Woodlands Road in Glasgow lit by the early morning Sun. It's spire is tall enough to be visible throughout much of the West End.
When you take the lyrics "would he devote that Sacred Head for such a worm as I?" into your very core as a 5-year-old, it takes A LOT to get shut of that unsightly baggage as an adult.
Even "Amazing Grace": "...how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me...."
Really? I was a child. A baby.
A wretch?
Reprobate & miscreant are some of the synonyms. I was to learn those as well.
