It feels like I’ve been flying through my Cowboy Bebop rewatch, but I’ve only been doing my usual four episodes per week as I do with every anime series I watch from my collection!
It seems like I just watched Spike unintentionally rescue Ein from rare animal traffickers and now I just watched the series bid a fond farewell to Ed and Ein, and possibly Faye, too, but I can’t remember if she appears in the two-episode finale. (Please don’t remind me! My memory for that will get refreshed next week.) Either way, “Hard Luck Woman” is one of my favorite episodes of the series, and one of the most moving episodes from any series I’ve seen over the years. Even this time, I still got the feels from it.
With only the two part finale remaining, Cowboy Bebop remains one of my all-time favorite anime series. Watching it again now, it definitely stands the test of time.
Psst - it's the anniversary of Cowboy Bebop's and Music Women Wednesday by @loewe
So, let's post music from the incomparable Yoko Kanno, specifically Tank! - which served as the theme for Cowboy Bebop. https://songwhip.com/seatbelts/tank
Eight episodes into my latest Cowboy Bebop rewatch, and this series hasn’t aged a day since 1998. The writing, direction, characters, and design are all top-notch, and I know it’s not just my nostalgic attachment to the series saying that.
I had the same thoughts the last time I rewatched The Vision of Escaflowne, too. That’s another series I’m due to rewatch again, the last time being when the blu-ray for it was released, probably ten years ago now.
Stopped at McDonald’s late last night and could not figure out what was up with the “#WcDonalds” branding next to their new nugget sauce. Turns out it’s an #anime reference to the mangled corporate logos used in shows like #CowboyBebop over the years.
(Apologies if this is old news, but I’m an old person.)
Finally finished Netflix's live-action #YuyuHakusho. It was great, especially the fight scenes! It didn't look cheap and it had a premium quality to it like the Rurouni Kenshin movies. I quite understand though why people, especially Filipinos, who loved the anime felt it lacked something. The show was probably more geared towards general Netflix viewers than anime fans. Which is kinda the opposite of the #OnePiece live action series, which made absolutely sure to satisfy anime/manga fans first.
So, uh... I'm watching #CowboyBebop for the first time. I'm to the eco-terrorists episode. Turns out this is a pretty great show, and the english dub is actually ok.
I can't believe nobody has ever heard of this show. /s
So, ive never really gotten into #anime but I have some time the next couple weeks. I've watched most of cowboy bebop which I enjoyed and also some of the ghibli films.
What are some recommendations?
My current home screen is inspired by the UI design featured in cowboy bebop :)
it's always evolving so parts are unfinished, but a lot of the features are designed to help me manage my circadian rhythm sleep disorder
Not sure how it'll look after compression, but I'm really proud of the design work that went into it, its pretty much all custom made with KWGT and KLWP
I have never really done #ShelfieSunday before, mostly because I do not own tons of physical manga. I also have a gaggle of kids who take up shelf space, so I have more in stacks in my room 🤭
Here are a couple quick pics of some of my manga shelved. There's some other random books intermixed.
Feel free to comment below on what stands out to you!
Part of me is saddened by this, as it means the night sky will become polluted with satellites 🛰️ (& future debris) like something out of #CowBoyBebop (a space cowboy anime).
So, I am about to fire up a trial for Crunchyroll. 3 months but no idea of what to watch. Recommendations? Things I've enjoyed include Haruhi Suzumiya, Excel Saga, Evangelion, Gurrenn Lagann, Cowboy Bebop, most things Ghibli, everything Satoshi Kon, Mushishi, Memories, Escaflowne, Berserk, Gunbuster, Serial Experiments Lain, Ghost in the Shell.
Good sci-fi/dark stories/anthology shows/feel-good/slice of life, I guess. #anime#crunchyroll
@trezzer Game Pass perk? Here in Germany we could also get three months free, but the only anime I ever watched (and bought on DVD afterwards) was #CowboyBebop, so I have no idea what even is out there.
Watched the first episode of #OnePiece and thought it was really fun. I had no huge expectations and I enjoyed it. Then again, I don't trust my own judgment because I also enjoyed the live-action #CowboyBebop too. But I'm definitely watching the rest of the season because NAKAMA FEELS.
