This is truly sad news. I've been watching #RichardLewis since I was a kid. He was an iconic comedian who pal'd around with #LouieAnderson, and #RichardBelzer, both iconic comedians in their own right. His work on #CurbYourEnthusiasm brought his unique, self-deprecating comedy to a new audience. Lewis is beloved, and will be missed by millions.
Stand-up comedian Richard Lewis, who played a fictionalized version of himself in "Curb Your Enthusiasm," has died at age 76. He retired from stand-up comedy last year after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, but appears in the 12th and final series of "Curb Your Enthusiasm," which is currently airing. Larry David has paid tribute to the late Richard Lewis. “Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and for most of my life he’s been like a brother to me,” David wrote in a statement Wednesday, shared by HBO. “He had that rare combination of being the funniest person and also the sweetest. But today he made me sob and for that I’ll never forgive him.”
