Budapest seems like a nice city to live in. It is very similar to Vienna but has a bit of a worn down vibe to it. That may sound rude but I actually like that. I don't like super posh shiny and clean (which is one of the reasons I could never live in Zürich, this city gave me the creeps).
The main difference between #Vienna and #Budapest? In Budapest both sides of the #Danube are nice.
How many people can you offend with one toot? Thomas: yes.
Black and white photograph of a panoramic view of Budapest. On the right you can see St. Stephen's Basilica, on the left the Hungarian Parliament and in the center the Chain Bridge.
Today is an office day, which means I can enjoy this magnificent view over the #Danube in #Vienna. I also like to believe that right now, somewhere there on the #Donauinsel, @wurzelmann is riding his bike feeding his crow bros.
In other news: there was a drop day today (weightwise) and I am wearing a shirt I haven't worn in 4 years now.
We once travelled to the site in #Austria where the Venus von #Willendorf statuette was found. It was raining, the fruit orchards were just starting to blossom and the view of the #Danube flowing through the #Wachau was impressive. One could feel the history and somehow believe that people had been here for 25,000 years. #Watercolor#Paleolithic#Archeology
Budapest, 1975. A home-built rooftop tent or "moving hotel" mounted on a 850 Fiat car. The tent could open up and there was a mattres there allowing someone to sleep there. Hmmm. That's the Buda Castle on the other side of the Danube in the background.
In the Black Sea, a civilian vessel under the flag of #Panama was hit by a Russian sea mine.
The ship was on its way to one of the #Danube ports to be loaded with grain.
The ship lost speed and control, a fire broke out on the upper deck. To avoid flooding, the captain anchored the ship aground.
Ukrainian #Danube ports achieve record growth in 2023

With Odesa out of action, Izmail and Reni are now the only places grain can reliably be exported
