Then she turned into an eel before finally becoming a grey wolf which lunged for his sword arm. Unperturbed, Cuchulainn managed to keep his enemy at bay whilst, of course, he defeated her every attack; he broke the cow’s leg, trampled the eel underfoot, poked out the wolf’s eye, & went on to kill his opponent shortly after.`

According to a folktale from British Columbia's Haida People, there was once a pair of wolves that would swim out into the sea to hunt whales until one day when they were unable to find their way home through the fog. Lost at sea, they transformed into orcas. #FairyTaleTuesday

"Great Harvest Moonlight"), held by his own kind at Glen Rushen.

Whilst they were away, and her husband Cú Roí lay sleeping, she hid his weapons, and poured milk into the river to send a signal to the waiting CúChullain at the bottom of the mountain that all had gone to plan. In the Brothers Grimm version of "Snow White," the Evil Queen tries to kill Snow White again at the girl's wedding. So the dwarfs make red-hot iron slippers, the prince forces the Queen to wear them, and she is then made to dance until the shoes burn her to death. #FairyTaleTuesday

In many legends, a person is a werewolf by choice, turning into a wolf by donning a magic wolfskin. In some versions, the werewolf also leaves behind their human clothes when they transform. If these clothes are then destroyed, the werewolf can never regain human form. #FairyTaleTuesday

There is a legend that there was once a large lake where the #Loibltal in #Carinthia opens today. But one day, on the advice of a mountain gnome, a charcoal burner set out to penetrate deep into the earth, where a #Lindworm was guarding a great treasure. But instead of just taking a few gems, the man got greedy and stole his golden egg from the dragon. In Norse myths, Garm is the watchdog of the Underworld. Garm and Tyr will kill each other at Ragnarok. Since Tyr had previously lost his hand to the similar Fenris Wolf, some scholars theorize that Garm and Fenris were the same beast in an earlier version.

King Arthur owned the hound Cavall in Welsh myth. His name is similar to a Latin word for "horse," indicating great size, strength, and speed. While hunting the giant boar Trwyth, Cavall left a permanent footprint on a stone cairn, which is impossible to remove. #FairyTaleTuesday
