Pat Robertson dedicated his long life to dehumanizing queer people. His words influenced my parents and the Christian community I was raised in. I do not celebrate his death, but I welcome the slow, incremental quieting of hate speech from one loud voice no longer speaking.

Conservatives cannot adequately define "woke" because it is a snarl word subject to a moral panic. Therefore it lacks a fixed definition. Most definitions in general, outside of mathematics are family resemblances anyway. But "Woke" used to have a fixed definition and positive connotation but that changed upon becoming a right-wing snarl word. It was a sense of awareness of systemic injustices. Its denotation and connotation have changed.
But now because of chuds and gammons appropriating this perfectly good word from African American vernacular, "woke" means anything from The Little Mermaid being played by a Black woman to not blocking the parking lot charging stations with my gas-guzzling light truck. Environmentalism is "woke," but so are no-smoking signs, reading evidence-based history books, Red Starbucks cups, soy-milk, or whatever conservatives hate this week
In 2013, Robertson claimed #gay men in #SanFrancisco used a "secret ring" to transmit "the stuff" (HIV) to naïve Christians.

Not shedding a single tear. #PatRobertson caused so much harm in this world. His life was a prime example of how disconnected #ChristianNationalism is from the teachings of Christ on compassion for others.
#Trump being indicted on the same day as #PatRobertson dying means we need a third thing for the hattrick, like - just blue-skying here - David Duke getting mauled to pulp in a Zamboni "accident" or Kissinger being stomped to death by a rhinoceros.
These straights who don't like how gays are being chipper about Pat Robertson's death, after he blamed 9/11 and hurricanes on us, and campaigned against our civil rights, remind me of those who remained silent when their bigoted friends and family said, "AIDS is killing all the right people". #LGBTQ
