My home city of Ottawa – located on unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin Territory - celebrates Pride in August to commemorate the 2SLGBTQ+ people who marched to parliament hill in 1971 in protest of the continued oppression of the community despite decriminalization.
I'm DJ'ing this Sunday for the Wakefield Pride alternative afterparty 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Maybe wear something ridiculous, and DEFINITELY play ridiculous songs.
Come across if you fancy! There's proper beer too, not this chemical shite you get in supposed queer bars who slap a few crinkled rainbow flags up to milk the pink pound (she said cynically 😉).
Maybe even the only aftershow run by queer people for queer people.

Cork Pride 2023, the entire parade in one image, a slitscan (originally 106,000 pixels long by 2,160 high) of the 29 minute event.
There is a wonderful level of detail in the image, which needs a huge wall print. The highlight samples are the opening, Mammies for Trans Rights and a group with long balloon streamers, rendered magically alive by the slitscanning process. #slitscan#photography#CorkCity#LGBT#Pride2023

Homophobia and Transphobia on the rise in the so-called US, a failed coup attempt in Russia and protests in Argentina in this 24th installment of System Fail.
Three years ago I woke up, put on my best dress, did my makeup, and came out to the world.
It has been 3 years of growing and changing and loving. 3 years of motherhood and sisterhood and finding out a little more about myself every day. 3 years of finally being achingly, vibrantly, joyously alive alive alive.
Until my last thought fades and the stars grow cold, this is who I am, and who I ever will be. And I am proud. 💜
We hope you have enjoyed following along as we have looked back on some of the highlights of the history of Pride in the US! If you didn't catch all our posts you can read the whole articles series and join the discussion here: https://www.tarvalon.net/index.php?threads/june-pride-month.53591/
For a world where we can love without fear of being a reason for mockery or aggression. Because although a lot of progress has been made in 🇲🇽 and equal marriage is already legal throughout the country, there is still a long way to go to be an inclusive country.
During #pridemonth, as always, we stand with the queer community.
Many queer & trans people use Tutanota to protect their privacy. During #Pride2023 we can all show our flag as a sign of solidarity and support - which is important right now. 🏳️🌈
Tutanota is also built for (and by) trans people & we will continue to fight for our rights to non-discrimination, privacy and freedom! Trans rights are human rights!
Support your local queer organizations and happy #pride 🌈
