@OrionKidder If you're in Victoria this year, I'd like to meet up(outdoors) for discussions & brainstorming for progressive ideas to implement for creating a more mutually supportive society.

@OrionKidder The last time I did a solo lockdown was 2 yrs ago. I joined in with #WetsuwetenSolidarity. Chained myself to front doors of #RBC in downtown #VictoriaBC & shut it down for 4 hours. They sent over 20 cops to deal with me & I mocked them for coming out for just me & told them to call down more of their cop pals & we can have a proper street party. They were boggled by my response to their threats of arrest. I told them to quit their jobs. 2 did quit their jobs, after.

Canadian banks are leaders in funding fossil fuel expansion, report.
"global analysis on fossil fuel banking. Endorsed by 624 organizations from 75 countries, it reveals the truth of banks’ commitments to the climate by examining their financing of the fuel industry.

For the first time since 2019, a Canadian bank is the #1 annual financier of fossil fuels rather than US bank JP Morgan Chase. Royal Bank of () showered fossil fuel projects with $41 billion dollars in 2022, including $4.8 billion for sands and $7.4 billion into fracking. Canadian banks are becoming the banks of last resort for fossil fuels, providing $862 billion to fossil fuel companies since the Paris Agreement."

  1. purchase tickets
  2. 8 days later the carrier announces it is ceasing operations; news story says to contact credit card company
  3. one day later the air carrier emails me to say they're failing & contact my CC company
  4. I call and wait for over an hour (chose the call back option but still had to wait on hold)
  5. RBC tells me that I have to wait 14 days from when they ACTUALLY cease operations, so I need to call back after March 9

I’m so exhausted by profit-by-attrition.

Just tried to do etransfer via web browser on laptop. Usually no issues. Today it failed with this message: "Something doesn't seem right. Sorry we are having some technical issues. Please try again later..." So I tried again. Same error. I suspected a cookie issue. Sure enough RBC now uses a 3rd party cookie "scorecardresearch" which I prevent in browser. When I allow 3rd party cookies - everything works. 😡
Why is RBC using a tracker on my etransfer?

Our credit card was compromised. fraud center called this morning, but I didn't want to answer as scammers sometimes spoof their number.

Online services are broken and won't let me report my card stolen (it tells me to call the fraud center instead).

I've been waiting for over an hour, and every 5 min, they tell me that I can do it online instead. I TRIED.
