Happy #RecordStoreDay ! My favourite haunt for vinyl is Retro-Pop in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Support your local bricks n mortar shops.... before they disappear and the world becomes one giant "Amzn".
QUOI ?
@hamsterhuey@vinylrecords it’s such a great one to put on - the fade in of Natural Mystic just perfect after the needle drop. Also loving that the sides aren’t labelled “Side” but “Part 1”, “Part 2”. I’m partial to Part 1.
💿 2024 marque le 50e anniversaire des #Ramones. A cette occasion, "The 1975 Sire Demos" sera pressé sur vinyle pour la première fois et disponible pour #RecordStoreDay#RSD
I’m sure Paramore (the band) mean well by leaving a major label but becoming ambassadors of Record Store Day where major labels flood the market with pointless reissues. Making it difficult for indie bands and labels from pressing albums. #Paramore#MusicIndustry#RecordStoreDay
@fistfulofdave oh, luckily yeah she doesn't play it around me. I don't know how much she still does even, maybe some? More from her youth. But things like, she follows the singer on TikTok and the other day I got to hear her butcher a Talking Heads song. Which was disturbing. 🤣 and yeah, my wife likes metal too but exactly, not ALL the weird shit I listen to. She wasn't nearly as excited about the new Organectomy single as I was. 🤣😂🤣
Record Store Day is coming up in April and we should get the releases list in February. However there is an RSD “suggestion box” here, which I’ve only just found out about… #RSD#RSD24#RecordStoreDay
The #GratefulDead put out March 2, 1969 on vinyl for #RecordStoreDay. The Alligator this night is a beast. Each night of the 2-27 - 3-02-69 run is a must-have for Deadheads, but 3-02 is my favorite. Except for when it's 2-28.
@mrcompletely Sensible budgeting brain says, "Be like Mr. Completely." Greedy-goblin collector brain says, "Discs shiny. CD booklets have artwork and essays."
@Copperdomebodhi I had a 100% complete physical CD collection of GD and JG official releases up until I ran out of room, at which point I stopped totally and haven't added another thing. Every bonus disk, every weird little one off, but then at some point I had to call a halt for physical storage space reasons. I think the June 76 was the first box I didn't get. I still have all that but only a handful of the nicer boxes have escaped storage so far.
Not a productive day for Christmas shopping as I bought nothing. I finally got a chance to visit a fabulous #vegan cafe in Southampton, enjoying a not a hog roast bun which was amazing, a cronut and a black forest tart which I brought home.
I also collected my #RecordStoreDay purchase by #TheWaterboys from Vinilo Records.
I gave most of the cash on me to a variety of rough sleepers, it breaks my heart to see them. I miss my days of working in the homeless shelter in Coventry.
Any #vinyl folks go out for BF Record Store Day this morning? If so, how did it go and what did you pick up? Only a couple of things that caught my eye on the list this time, so I think I'm going to wait them out and see if the prices go down.
@tonymasiello@vinylrecords I wanted the Jazz Dispensary album but I’m traveling from VT (my folks) to Miami today, so I will likely have to pay over face unless I can find an leftover online tomorrow at plaidroom or wherever. I am also interested in the Garcia/Grisman joint.
