The coup leader/rapist/fraud is blocking a bipartisan border reform bill this month that would’ve provided billions for our border security. He blocked it.

The entire GOP has bent the knee and given allegiance to a man who is charged with , adjudicated fraud, adjudicated rapist, bragged about grabbing women by the genitals, engaged in numerous adulterous affairs, was held liable for sexually assaulting a woman, and is proud of helping kill Roe v Wade.

Republicans are weak and in profound moral collapse.

Hey, it's really cool that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce donated money to the family of the person shot killed in the Kansas City Super Bowl celebration.

You know what would be even cooler? If Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce donated the same amount of money to the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence and announced publicly that America needs super strong and restrictive gun regulations.

And while they are at it, they could also donate to candidates who aren't afraid to stand up against the gun lobby, like Beto O'Rourke did.

Helping victims pay for funerals just doesn't cut it given horrific US day-to-day gun violence.

Yet another reason to move from a Republican-controlled US state to a Democrat-controlled one:

Living in a state with a Republican-controlled legislature is associated with higher death rates.

In fact, the more control the GQP has in a state, the more deadly it is.

New, open access research: Association Between Partisan Affiliation of State Governments and State Mortality Rates Before and During the COVID-19 Pandemic

"The resulting polarization in state responses to COVID-19, a disease that claimed lives within days or weeks of exposure, created a macabre natural experiment in which the association between partisan policy choices and mortality outcomes could be examined."

Controlling for income and some other health risk factors diminished the excess mortality association and will require additional research. However, other studies have found the same correlation between the "pro-life" party and higher death rates.

Republicans don't actually care about the debt. If they did, they wouldn't have passed massive tax cuts for the rich. They are just using the current debt ceiling situation as an excuse to gut social programs that millions rely on.
