S03 was the movie we never got, they just need to leave this one alone. It’s most likely being talked about because Picard S03 got the best ratings of all the new Trek shows. But it was already quite a perfect ending. We don’t need another Picard movie, Trek needs to continue on the small screen with #StarTrekLegacy.
Hey #StarTrek fans, in case you haven't seen this yet, there's a petition to get them to make a new series, #StarTrekLegacy - hopefully starring the wonderful @JeriLRyan as #CaptainSeven 🌟
I've signed 🖖
#ParamountPlus cancelling #StarTrekProdigy sucks. Removing it from their service for fucking tax reasons sucks even more.
But it also got me thinking. They know that people will be angry & sad about this. Which is why they should've bundled the announcement with some good news, like the confirmation of #StarTrekLegacy. The fact that they didn't is imho a clear signal that they're not considering producing it.
„Let Terry Matalas, Picard Season 3 Showrunner, Make More Star Trek Shows! (#TerryTrek)” - Jetzt unterschreiben! https://chng.it/NPXLm857 via @ChangeGER
I'm not 100% sure if I want a Star Trek Legacy spin off if they can't come up with a more original premise than repeating the start of TNG and Encounter at Far Point by putting Jack on trial for the fate of humanity over his upcoming missions.
Fine if they want to involve Q and the continuum but not a rinse and repeat please, something original!!!
Plus death has to mean something occasionally! Data twice, Q once. Writers need more courage!
Sooo … since I’m no longer on mainstream social networks, and I doubt that campaigning for #StarTrekLegacy makes a lot of sense on the Fedi, I wonder what would happen if a large number of people were to email #ParamountPlus customer support with requests like “I can’t seem to find Star Trek: Legacy” or something like that.
I loved it. All the moments between our old TNG crew were fantastic. When they separated, one group going to the Borg cube, and the other staying aboard the D, and said their good-byes, that was so moving. 😭
I loved that they named Chekov's son Anton and made him the President of the Federation. 😭 And that Walter Koenig voiced him.
I loved Riker saying "I miss that voice." 😭
I loved the long poker scene.
I loved to see Seven, Raffi, Jack, Sidney, Mura and Esmar on the bridge of the G. I miss T'Veen of course.
I enjoyed the cook a lot. I want more from the cook. Can someone write a story, please?
Worf! ❤️
I love that we didn't hear Seven's warp phrase. Just like I love that we don't know what happened to the E. I never want to hear either one. Not everything needs to be explained. Leaving things to the imagination of the audience is much more powerful. (Says she who knows nothing about writing. Forgive me.)
All in all I am very happy with this season. I enjoyed it a lot. I wished they would have solved some things differently, but that is personal preference I guess. It looked so damn amazing! The actors, every single one, were fantastic.
So thank you, people who made this show, for 10 episodes of great entertainment and all the treats you served us. Let's wish and hope and will Star Trek: Legacy into existence!
I’m not super happy with some of the decisions and the story quality this season (but overall I enjoyed it), but I have to say: This was a great series finale, on par with #DS9’s (which I consider to be the best Trek finale).
Sure, it’s a bit handwavy once or twice, but it’s got some twists, real stakes, and emotional moments.
Now, where do I have to sign to convince Paramount to produce a spin-off?
