I never expected to be willing to pay for a #music player and yet here we are.
#Symfonium is extremely beautiful, customizable and powerful.
I personally use it with #Jellyfin, although multiple other sources are supported (such as #Plex and #Subsonic)
I really don't mind it not being #FOSS as long as it respects my #privacy and #choices.
Whenever I report to some project that their client doesn't work with SSL client certificates (often behind a reverse-proxy), tons of users educate me that it works fine with HTTPS/SSL/TLS certificates.
"No, it supports all scenarios, even behind a reverse proxy."
Look, if you reply to someone using a very specific technical term that seems unfamiliar, look it up before you tell them they're wrong maybe?
For example, Chrome, Home Assistant and Nextcloud can all do it, but it is not generally supported by everything that can do HTTPS. Apparently the libraries suck.
Which is really annoying, because I really want that additional layer of security before exposing a service on the Internet.
A huge shout out to this subsonic music player, supersonic. It's one of the newest players in the game and yet almost single-handedly solves a staggering disparity between quality subsonic server software (navidrome, gonic, airsonic) and the not-so-great client offerings, at least when it comes to desktop apps.
