Since my memory is failing and Google isn't any better, I'm going to for some finding the title and author of a featuring a : “they” suddenly appear wish spaceships on the edges of the Solar System and with no warning wipe out the outer colonies. Earth quickly sets up a space navy to face the unknown enemy, but as the enemy approaches Earth it stops fighting and is easily defeated.

It's very important that we go out and bury really odd things in the ground to mess with future archeologists.

@grumpygamer there's a movie I can't remember the title of where the main character has a brain that keeps growing, and there's a scene where he steals the part of it that was surgically removed and had kept growing in a lab, and buries it together with some abnormally long bones.

(BTW if anybody can help me find it, I'd be grateful. )

@communist_kangaroo hot damn you made me remember a short sci-fi story I read eons ago just about that. Can't remember author or title, it was something like an old lady living alone in a huge city, waking up disturbed by a noise in the middle of the night and walking across the city to find a running tap, and then writing a letter to a friend of hers saying she was considering moving to a quieter town?
I think the neon signs were alive too or something like that.

Ok so I joined fedia.io because I like trying out fedi projects and I occasionally used . Seems like in a couple of days it’s gotten some things fixed up and more content I actually care about. But there is no (tip of my tongue) magazine yet, so hoping someone will create that because I’m not really cut out to be a magazine admin but I love sleuthing for obscure cartoons, video games, toys etc. that someone remembers from 20 years ago and just wants to see again to recapture a little piece of their childhood in this wild world we live in.

OK maybe I can try this in English too. I'm looking for a or short that was published in the or earlier and was a graphical representation of the well know “boyfriend's death” story (Sheriff finds the girl variant)
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/the-boyfriends-death/
It was published on an Italian comics magazine in the 70s or 80s, but I'm sure it was American. I can't find the issue anymore. Anybody knows it? Boosts welcome for reach.
