I had absolutely no idea that Tom Baker and Lalla Ward did advertisements for Prime Computer in the #1980s! Also, I have never, ever heard of Prime Computer. What's even more astounding is that they were based in my home state of Massachusetts! Why have I never heard of them?
It makes sense that Doctor Who would be a "hot property" in Massachusetts at that time. #WGBH in #Boston aired the Baker years frequently.
So I'm starting up the #BandCamp recommendations thread.
Please feel free to recommend your own work, your friends work or just something cool you would like to share. If it's on BandCamp it's welcome in the thread.
"East Midlands Vice" is my jam. Deep and gritty #cyberpunk music that nods just enough to it's namesake, whilst alsobeing on it's own unique vibe, (and taking you on a disturbing off kilter inner journey), I Dig It!
"Disco ectasi" is a banger, perhaps my favorite single track. Look,
the whole release is gold.
This one has been stuck in my head for weeks. But that's because I've been ending every day by watching an episode of an insipid anime (the one about the unappreciated nerdy boy who goes on great adventures to save the world) that ends with a very similar guitar riff.
Still, it's better than anything Samantha Fox ever created. Really, her virtues were elsewhere than music...
This kid has somehow managed to accurately reflect teenage life in the 80s. Every detail (including the mullet) is like a mirror into my past. #Retro#Eighties#GenX
@DemocracySpot@billzismyname I noticed, while listening. I'm like, "Wait One!", that's familiar! Then, it hit me! "There But For The Grace Of God", I think it was done by Machine? I used to play that song, a ton; now, it's kinda fallen out of the rotation. #EDM#Disco#eighties#music

Born in Flames was way more prescient than director, Lizzie Borden, ever wanted it to be.
