Under the stars on a beautiful spring evening at the University of #Toronto for a rally in support of the student encampment. The administration has backed down on trying to get it busted up by the cops (so far).
Looks like #Ontario NDP leader Marit Stiles has received the message from the activist community. They have given a deadline of May 6th for the keffiyeh ban in the Ontario Legislature to be lifted or else they will defy the ban and also encourage the public to do so.
We shouldn’t expect Mayor Olivia Chow to deliver big progressive changes. It’s going to take networks of grassroots groups pushing together to stop city council from doing the bidding of Toronto’s corporate class.

Police ride horses through crowd, injure several and arrest six on Saturday at rally much like the ones each weekend since October. Officers pinned some people to the ground to make arrests, including a bystander unaffiliated with the march.
Based on Premier Ford's 2024 budget, Ontario's deficit will TRIPLE to $9.8 billion.
It is shocking how the #DougFord Conservatives are able to spend such an exorbitant amount of taxpayer dollars while doing almost nothing to help #Ontario.

The #DougFord govt says the names of physicians and facilities found to have engaged in extra-billing for health services will be kept secret.
As of Jan 2024, there are 900+ private surgical & diagnostic centres operating in #Ontario.
If the Ontario patient ombudsman receives a complaint & finds a violation there is no legal process in place to compel those organizations to act on the ombudsman's recommendations and the findings will not be made public.

NEW: Premier Ford's secret “Phase 2” plan for #OntarioPlace includes paving over 25 acres of Lake Ontario.
This new development area is sandwiched between the Budweiser Stage and Trillium Park at the centre of Ontario Place’s east island. The plans propose filling in or paving over Brigantine Cove.
Speaking of Ontario Place.. remember Premier Ford's plan to demolish the Ontario Science Centre?? He hasn't forgotten.
#DougFord has furtively transferred responsibility for the museum from the Minister of Tourism to the Minister of Infrastructure who is none other than MPP Kinga Surma -- aka Premier Ford's #OntarioPlace tsarina.
Premier Ford was angry that "folks" were constantly writing protest messages on the hoarding he'd constructed to hide the destruction of the trees & wildlife at #OntarioPlace. To solve the issue, he wrapped the entire project in images of... trees & wildlife.
Not surprisingly, #DougFord neglected to include a single image of the massive luxury spa that he's planting on the waterfront for a century.
“Toronto signed a secret agreement that gave it the right to withdraw from hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup if it didn't receive financial support from senior levels of government by mid-2020, internal emails obtained by the Star show.
