"The first bowl on the earth
The second bowl on the sea
The third bowl on the rivers
The fourth bowl on the sun
The fifth bowl on the beast
The sixth bowl on the stars
The seventh bowl on the air
And the earth turned grey
Sea turned black
The rivers turned red
The sun turned cold
The beast turned pale
The stars turned fast
The air turned to poison"
It is with a heavy heart that I write to you on the first red cove day of 2023, a day that witnessed the ruthless #hunting and #slaughter of ~10 innocent Risso's #dolphins in #Taiji. The dolphins fought hard to escape but after a 2 hour chase, the entire #pod was forced into the cove and brutally killed.
Our team is not just standing by. At the end of August we submitted an appeal
We're also tackling the demand from #Taiji, targeting #restaurants selling #toxic dolphin meat and intensifying public #awareness campaigns.
This is an emotional day, but let it also be a day of #unity and #commitment. We can channel our sorrow into #action, and make this the season where things change.
We are fighting to end the #DolphinHunt drives for good. Every year, fishermen herd hundreds of dolphins into a narrow cove in #Taiji, #Japan. Terrified, these dolphins are captured or killed. We’re targeting the two economic drivers – the sale of dolphins into #captivity, and the #slaughter of dolphins for food.
I did the Tai, I did the Chi and I did the #Meditation thingy. 😅
I am so energetically wasted right now. I haven't felt this weak and tired - without being sick - in...ever? I spent most of my evening sprawled out on the carpet with both kids climbing over me. 😅
But I managed to stick to my daily #Mindfulness exercises. And I'm happy to report that my knees do indeed no longer hurt after practicing #Taiji. Took me only 8 years. 😅 And it also "feels" more correct, like I'm truly centering.
Another #Taiji thing I (re)learned today: my knees start hurting, because I don't actively relax my muscles when I sink in. 😩
It's kinda hard to explain if you've never done this yourself. Basically you're putting most of your weight on one leg. I always sink in and relax that knee. But at the same time, you need to keep your balance. Ultimately you plan to shift your weight to the other leg, so you need to bend that knee too.
I've been struggling with this for my whole Taiji "career". 🙃
Update on my #Taiji revival. 😁
I finally figured out what's been bugging me with "the fair lady works the shuttles" (just looked this up online). I got stuck after the first direction, because I couldn't figure out how to turn. As it turns out, I was standing on the wrong foot. 😅
"Relax, Deep Mind" helped me figure that out. It's actually the first time I've read the description, rather than the figure name or looking at the pictures. Kinda like learning dance steps by reading about them.
A quick #Taiji update. I made it all through the Yang short form today. 😁
Not without sneaking a peek at "Relax, Deep Mind" though. Even though the third part is pretty short, especially compared to the middle part, I stumbled over a few transitions.
I'm now 80% confident that what I'm doing is somewhat correct. Not everything flows as it should, but I'm sure it'll come back. I'm enjoying the training very much, even though it's just a few minutes a day.
No gaming today, but I finally did some #Taiji again.
I'm embarrassed to say that I forgot a whole bunch of steps in the Yang short form. I practiced Taiji regularly for almost 7 years, but have been on a prolonged hiatus for the last 1.5yrs.
So far I have managed to restore 2/3 of the short form with the help of Patrick Kelly's "Relax, Deep Mind" and YouTube videos. 😁
I stopped after the second part today to let things settle. Tomorrow I'll see how far I can get in part 3 without peeking. 😅
