Lots of people who work in have, in their head, an idea about what sort of interaction with an might give them pause. The thing that might make them start to suspect that something interesting is happening.

Here's mine:

User: Tell me a cat joke.

LLM: Why did the cat join a band? He wanted to be a purr-cussionist.

User: Tell me a dad joke.

LLM: I think I just did.

(I have never seen this behavior, yet. 🤣)

AI companies are swimming in billions.

The government agency overseeing AI safety is so underfunded that its offices are leaking and mold-infested and their internet barely works.

An AI company complaining about having their art stolen? Oh, the irony.

A screenshot of Thomas Schulz's twitter profile says he runs an "office space for AI startups @ newtonsf.com"
A tweet from Brooke Bowman says "Oh man that’s really shitty, I’m so sorry I feel like that face looks familiar but I’m not able to call up a name" Thomas replies "Doing that is so cringe... we just want our painting back" And a twitter user named @im_right_though says "you stole her art without permission or compensation. how does it feel?" Don’t use ChatGPT to diagnose your kid’s illness—study finds 83% error rate

It was bad at recognizing relationships and needs selective training, researchers say.

In geheel ander nieuws weet ChatGPT nog steeds geen goed antwoord op de vraag

When was 10-12-’25?

Right now if you search for "country in Africa that starts with the letter K":

  • DuckDuckGo will link to an alphabetical list of countries in Africa which includes Kenya.

  • Google, as the first hit, links to a ChatGPT transcript where it claims that there are none, and summarizes to say the same.

This is because ChatGPT at some point ingested this popular joke:

"There are no countries in Africa that start with K."
"What about Kenya?"
"Kenya suck deez nuts?"

Google Search is over.

I hope my mind never rots to the point that I use one of these suggested text responses. It wasn't surprising that Outlook started trying to complete every phrase with something more anodyne, trite and, yes, PREDICTABLE than anything I would hope to compose. But now Whatsapp is doing it — reading the incoming message and suggesting a response.

...Imagine in a year when you have fired everyone competent "to let AI do the base work" and the whole thing collapses like last year's Bored Ape collection...

...and you get to go on to complain that none of the people you fired wants to go back to work for you without a pay raise.
