Any #Bear users here? I've just started testing it to see if it's better than Apple notes. I've created a couple notes and tagged them, but the tags aren't showing on the sidebar.
What am I doing wrong? This isn't a great first impression…
@asier Just by clicking on the create button at the top. Then added tags like “#blogging” (without quotes). But nothing. Tried restarting the app, still nada.
Figured it out. It seems that “#blogging" isn't supported somehow? If I change it to #blog or #test it works, Bear just doesn't like the “blogging" tag.
@kev Huh, weird! Does “#blogging” show up as a little pill in the note, just not in the sidebar? I use “#blog”, but I just tested and “#blogging” also worked for me.
A screenshot from the Bear notes app, showing the “#blogging” tag in the sidebar.
When many people think of #Phoenix, they think of endless suburban sprawl. And, certainly, that’s part of the story. But here’s something that many are surprised to learn:
Four of the five largest city parks are located in metro Phoenix
"It has a nice side-effect of being a public declaration of priorities. It’s a good link to give people when saying no to invitations and distractions."
(Noting for the idea although not sure how often most would keep this up).
Unsurprising, but good to have explicitly laid out:
"The overall effect of looking at my Substack dashboard is 'wow, Substack is really getting me an audience! If I leave Substack, half of my subscription channel will dry up.' It’s clear that this is the impression other writers, the media, and investors are getting as well, because they praise Substack about it all the time."
Love that styling external links is becoming more of a thing! :)
The « preview on hover » thing is something I have enabled on Wikipedia a real long time ago and I can't browse that site without it anymore… but I never thought of doing it on my own blog. Hmm… maybe this should be one of my future projects.
I have now installed the Openheart protocol to my blog, which means you can click the little heart emoji and it will make me happy. (Nothing else.)
Huge thanks to Tracy for her step-by-step tutorial, I only had to find where to put the code snippet in my theme (which is very different from hers) but everything else was incredibly simple!
presenting an archive of vitriol, negativity, and embarrassment circa 2008; it's fascinating to see my thoughts from so long ago. #livejournal#blogging
