Would you like to see higher adoption of Mastodon in higher education?
Here’s an opportunity “tip the scale” & show #CUBoulder that Mastodon can be an effective part of their social strategy while ALSO supporting an organization doing amazing work in the fediverse. If you use this link to donate to the College of Media, Communication & Information, the source of the donation will show up as coming from Mastodon.
The UI suggests $25, but you can donate as little as $1
I’m a software engineer at #CU#cuboulder Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics 🪐. I write data processing systems for satellite 🛰️borne scientific instruments, mostly in the #cloud ☁️. I’m also co-chair of the #LASP diversity and climate committee 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️, advocating for better organizational/leadership support for #DEIA.
I’m currently working on the Emirates Mars Mission UV Spectrograph 🌈 #EMUS (at Mars) and the #Libera Earth radiation budget mission ☀️⚖️🌍 (launching 2027).
Last night, city council voted to make a change to a building code that would allow a larger number of not-blood-related people to live together under one roof.
I mentioned to my PhD chat group buddies that it’d be lovely to see them on Mastodon, and some have agreed to give it a go.
So I’m asking for help. In advance of them arriving, I’d love to be able to point them at this post and replies to find their connections. Are you doing a #phd too? What’s it about? Have you just finished one and have some advice?
[edit: mine's about getting kids interested in data science at school]
Could you help me find as many PhD researchers as possible?
