"According to a survey conducted by ’s national weather agency, 89.9 percent of 1,706 respondents said they believe global warming is bringing their country to a crisis ― a result demonstrating an overwhelmingly united public view on the issue.

Even more people (90.1 percent) said they have felt it is already affecting their lives through unusual weather patterns, and a fall in the production of certain grains among other changest."

I somehow missed this huge news. Probably due to more important stuff like poop balloons.

state department has acknowledged the existence of the massacre/genocide for first time since it happened.

Not apologized, not launched investigations or prosecutions, merely admits that a "tragedy" "happened" (under the command of US Army Colonel Rothwell Brown).

I just learned from a student that at Korean rock festivals, fans bring different flags on flexible poles with labels. By finding the different flags you can know the areas in the crowd are reserved for women-only areas, fans that watch and not dance and places for "slam dancing" (mosh pits).

You get to pick your amount of participation during the event.

A South Korean province removed more than 2,500 books on sex education, gender equality and feminism from school libraries.

The person behind the campaign claims the books promoted the “early sexualization” of children through “sexual explicitness” and the “promotion of homosexuality.”

You can't make this up.

Random Pro Life Tip for

Westerners traveling in Korea who can read Japanese katakana

Use the katakana readings when you can, not the English transliterations

The English is nothing like how to pronounce Korean, but the JP katakana is quite close

(Best, of course, is to learn Hangul if you have time)

US imposes sanctions on Russians who helped transport weapons from North Korea to Russia (kyivindependent.com)

With Russia's military stocks running low and domestic production capacity simultaneously hampered by Western sanctions, North Korea has been shaping up as Russia's leading weapons supplier, reportedly providing Moscow with extensive military packages, including ballistic missiles and over 3 million artillery shells.

Contrary to the misconception that #OpenScience and #patents are not compatible, they co-exist.

  1. Inventors can openly publish the findings after filing a patent application.

  2. In countries like #Korea with a ‘grace period’ for pre-filing disclosures, inventors can publicly share their results even before submitting a patent application. Art. 30 of Korea’s Patent Act allows a 1-year grace period for various disclosures made before filing a patent application.

South Korean intelligence: North Korea suspected of supplying Russia with weapons made in 1970s (kyivindependent.com)

South Korea's intelligence service is conducting a review into suspicions that North Korea has provided Russia with artillery shells and other weaponry made in the 1970s, the country's National Intelligence Service (NIS) said on May 12.

and, in fairness, most western commentators fail to understand that in return for "paying for South Korea's defence" that they are in direct command of the South Korean military (the moment that war breaks out).

It would be fair to say that South Korea does not even have a military. What exists is a US foreign auxiliary legion.

South Korea spends a crippling 2.7% of GDP for defence. Including a billion dollar fee for being occupied by US troops.

South korea launches it's first nano-satellite. An earth observation satellite which is to be part of a constellation of 10 satellites.

On it's own, it has a spatial resolution of around 3m. Similar to that of north koreas military recon satellite.

#ROK spy satellites have 30cm resolution, 10x (100x) better than these and plans to launch more.

Terrifying stuff? Not particularly? Remember that when the next north korean satellite is launched!
