For your illumination on this grey December day, here’s another of my (highly processed) light painting images taken overlooking the Maeslantkering & Europoort on the Maas last night 🏗️⛴️
Lots of lovely detail if you zoom in – as someone who’s usually a bit obsessive when it comes to controlling image quality, I love the accidental nature of such pictures 🙂
Good to see my #SpaceRocks compadres, @alexandermilas & John O’Sullivan back in Noordwijk for meetings 🙇♂️
And to have the unexpected chance for a further chat with Alex while driving him to the Hook of Holland to catch the ferry home after fog in the Channel cut the continent off (to airplanes at least 🤷♂️)
Which gave me the opportunity for some quick light trail noodling over the Maeslantkering storm barrier & Europoort 🤪
Some more variations with extreme mutations during the iterative process... These kind of fractal distortions always remind me of some of the analog light paintings I used to do as a teen in my dark room in the 80s, combining images of clouds with various small torches, sparklers, sieves, paper cutouts and other masks during multiple exposures
