anyone else unable to view images now? it is across all domains and in multiple apps, including the web 😬 I'm not sure if it is a Fedi issue or instance issue :mstdn:
:canada: #mstdn.ca allows people with physical or emotional ties to #Canada to have a place to call home on the internet.
It’s easy to donate your spare loonies or toonies to help @chad with the financial stuff. And, if you’ve been wondering how to snag one of those handsome donor badges for your profile page - this is your lucky day. @jace will happily add one after your donation. 😊
Soliciting personal recs for great medium-sized to large instances you love that aren't defederating over personal conflicts between admins and that do use Oliphant's level-zero (or greater) blocklist. Preferably not locked to a locality.
If you like an instance but don't know anything about its blocklist, I appreciate you! But please don't recommend it in this specific spot. <3
@kissane I’m terrible in that I know it’s not what you asked for, but: I don’t know if it’s Oliphant’s, but my instance is an awesomely safe one with truly caring moderation and admin. The block list is available here:
I have had a Mastodon account @mstdn.party for months now. I don't recall seeing a single post from #Pixelfed or #Lemmy or #Calckey, even on keyword searches. WordPress and Tumblr are supposed to be using ActivityPub, but I've seen zero posts from either that I recognized?
Am I doing something wrong or misunderstanding how ActivityPub works? Do I have to change a setting or something? Am I just getting their stuff but the Mastodon service makes them look like Masto? Thanks.
I left twitter and I am never returning.
No interest in Bluesky - a twitter clone that ignores all of the ‘good’ things learned from building twitter - all in the interest of promoting growth. Moderation & security are huge expenses that do not promote growth.
I like mastodon - it keeps getting better. I repost & follow people that have interesting takes on issues. mstdn.ca is well moderated. Mastodon has a bright future. #mstdn.ca
