This old ad cracks me up: "Knott's Berry Farm: We also exist!"

It's from some time between 1976 and 1980 based on Motorcycle Chase not yet being rethemed to Wacky Soapbox Racers. (directly right of Corkscrew's corkscrew)

Our new episode is live, come join us as we travel to La Ronde in Montreal to try and conquer Le Monstre, the largest and scariest wooden roller coaster Canada has ever seen.

This frightening tale is the perfect Halloween episode! We'll discuss what makes this ride so scary and what can be done to redeem its appeal to the riders who visit.

Was just checking if Wicker Man had a 4K release and discovered this. The Wicker Man roller coaster(!) at Alton Towers in the UK. A definite stop on my next trip over. @horror

Scamper was a wooden wild mouse ride that operated at @cedarpoint from 1962 to 1969. While today's wild mouse rides boast larger cars, these older wild mouse coasters were built to only seat 2 people.

Today the site of Scamper at Cedar Point is home to their Matterhorn ride.

Scamper did have a short life outside of Ohio - she was shipped to @Dollywood after removal where she operated until 1972.

Not a lot of love lost here, but Psyclone was a Dinn Corporation-built wooden roller coaster that operated at @SFMagicMountain from 1991 to 2006. Part of the "record breaking wooden coaster craze" of the 1990s, the coaster pushed riders to the limit, with up to 3.0 in G-forces in parts of the ride.

Her trains were designed by B&M, the only wooden roller coaster to ever receive trains from them.

According to ACE, Timberline Twister is being removed from Knotts. I couldn't get this credit, way too big but it looked fun for the smaller folk.

Big Dipper at Geauga Lake was a John A. Miller designed wooden roller coaster that operated at the park from 1925 to the park's closure in 2007. The out-and-back coaster reached topped heights of 62 feet and top speeds of 35 MPH.

The coaster sat abandoned until it was finally torn down in 2016. It's a shame it wasn't able to be relocated.

sayuri_t_h,

Early morning at

Took this photo right around the sunrise from the highway when I went back to see my family. I see this scenery every time on my way to the airport on the very last day of my stay in Japan.
Very nostalgic, always.
