Whatever is going on right now in #Russia, I do note this: #Twitter is now useless at tracking this. Junk accounts everywhere, no verified accounts, swarms of sketchy bluechecks.
The ONE thing that place was good at was breaking global news. But not now.
Yup. I just came from there (NYT). However, neither #Twitter nor #Facebook ever did substitute as news sources for me. I’m a #newspaper#subscriber all the way down.
I’ve been a #WSJ#subscriber for several years, alongside several other major #newspapers. I believe in supporting #journalism, and they have good #journalists. I think their #editorial board writes idiotic editorials, but hey, it’s their opinion. What matters is the integrity of the #reporting on the news side.
With apologies to the excellent #reporters at the WSJ, today I will cancel my #subscription. I just don’t want to subsidize their coziness with #Alito and disrespect to @ProPublica.
